Did you know Omicron is an anagram for moronic?
Yep. And the best part is the sheep can't see it!
Unfortunately that’s also the problem
It is funny that it is being reported as being remarkably milder than delta but at the same time we are told we need to brace for a surge?? I say let it surge so all of the folks that decided not to get vaccinated can get it, blow their noses for a few days and then have natural immunity.
Has anyone heard whether or not it's been determined that if you get Omicron version, you can still get the Delta variant?
How do you know which variant you get? The tests I've seen just say positive or negative.
Yeah, pretty sure the home test I just got from Walmart has no way to discern which variant you have. It you test positive then you would need to seek a testing center that can for sure. Although does it really matter which one you get? Is there different treatment for the different variants or do you just quarantine until you fear for your life then go to the hospital and hope they don't kill you?
No treatment for any of them so what difference does it really make?
But I'm guessing when you go get tested the lab that runs the test either has a test to determine the variant or any positive tests and they send the sample off to a higher up facility that can do it? Just my guess. My daughter has to get tested tomorrow. She just started a new job and since she is not vaccinated she has to get tested weekly but there is an office across the hall from her that does the testing. It's the rapid test but her company pays for it
Just read an article last night where Pfizer is saying that a 4th boost is not off the table. So it would follow: step 1) get 2 shot loading dose. 2) 3 months later get boost. 3) three months later get boost. 4)maybe 3 months later get boost. Please explain why my Pfizer stock is only $52.00 per share.
They need to send the samples to a lab which can determine the variant.
Another Covid thread?
There are treatments.
I imagine some of you do what I do. Look at the “Funny picture thread” almost daily. I like the “boomer” thread too.
You mean the treatments that are intentionally being withheld, right?
The lab is how they tell, but I've yet to hear anyone know which "variant" they have. I believe they just bubble that info up vs letting the person who tested positive know...
Not sure I'd count Remdesivir and a vent as treatment...
There are more treatments now. If you’re going to criticize at least educate yourself.
Please, enlighten me oh wise @jmauld, considering I just beat covid, strep and pneumonia. Aside from MABs, what treatments will most Drs prescribe before you're on your death bed (unless you have a Dr that says F the NIH and CDC approved treatment methods)....enlighten me will you....
The go to is still nothing. Go home, treat your fever, see us if you get worse. Then it's remdesivir and a vent....
OHHHH. You’re looking for a treatment that will help keep you out of the hospital with Covid?
there are at least three vaccines for that. Plus your own home grown concoction that you have been using.
and don’t preach to me about “beating” Covid. I did that before you even knew about Covid.
You forgot monoclonal antibodies infusion. I believe you need to get the treatment within the first 48 hours of symptoms, much like Tamiflu. It's one of the treatments Trump received when he got covid prior to the vaccines release. My brother, who is vaccinated, got covid a couple months ago. As his symptoms rapidly worsened the first 24 hours he got diagnosed with covid & sent to the hospital for the infusion. His symptoms decreased tremendously afterward. So this seems to be the best treatment currently but, again, it needs to be administered relatively quickly after infection.
