Panama City Beach - Hurricane damage video

Yes we did come thru it and happy to hear Frank's boat was stored. Pirates Cove just built a huge facility and just completed last year, and it looks like that one made it out very well. Very sad to see it but all likely hood of me being there for the next couple of years is very high.

You need to see the before/after video of Pirates Cove. The old original building pretty much collapsed on itself in a heap. The new Mega-Barn is probably a total loss. About the 1/3 - 1/2 of the north end of the building collapsed inward in itself. It is hard to see in the photos but it looks like most of the structure it bent and tweaked beyond salvaging.

The walls blew outward but the structure on both buildings appears to be laying on the boats that were stored inside.

Glad to hear you're Ok Frank and that the boat probably is also. Thoughts and prayers for all that were in the path.

Here is the before/after video of Priate's Cove Marina in Panama City that I referenced in Post #22 above. For those interested, the marina next door (tan buildings and gray roof is Treasure Island Marina:

It looks like the boats stored outside of the building that was destroyed escaped damage. Surprising given the destruction everywhere else. They probably are damaged and wet inside, but they are upright and in same positions as in the before pic.

We rode it out. 8” poured concrete basement walls, partially underground. It was surreal. We felt a tree fall every minute, one on the house. Boat was safe in a small yacht basin with titanic pilings. Massive destruction. We will rebuild. I hope historic Panama City survives.

Damn John, I feel like you haven't been around in a while! Good to see you here again, and good to know you are safe too! Mike

John,

Wendy and I were thinking of you and Shelly and glad to hear you made it through in pretty good shape. I remembered that at one time, you get a boat at the AFB marina and am glad to hear you weren’t there now based on the pics I saw.

Mike
