Thanks everyone for the great comments. My boat has the kitchen on the starboard side where I believe there's a couch in the 2 stateroom model. It's easy to cook and walk out to the cockpit because they're on the same level. The steps down lead to a starboard stateroom with bunks that fold, closet and storage drawers. It is a great configuration. When the kids were younger and came on the boat with us, the boys shared the one room and my daughter the other with the admiral and I in the master stateroom. Now room 3 has a portable ice maker and portable refrigerator. It's a great extra room.
The SC boat has 3116's so maybe that is a factor in pricing. I comfortably cruise around 22kts at 2300 RPMs on my 3126 420s.
