Portable Genset use located off the boat on dock

And what do you northerners say about your on board gennys running all night? No CO?? :)

Most marinas prohibit the use of generators of any kind. I know people do it but it doesn't make it right. Your portable Honda may not have enough juice to power your AC. Be safe at all times.

Is this a proper use of a portable generator?

Youre going to have to get the portable generator working...theres no way to get enough power on batteries.

I've done this for many years on two different searay without any issues. And it wasn't just luck either......
Really? Are you a betting man?

There's a cove a few miles up the Snake River that's been called "Dead Man's Cove". I bet you can't guess why.

GFC, Nope, I just have several CO detectors on board, I could easily die from someone else's fumes from an on board genny. Most all of the 27ft and down seem to not have on board gennys and with our temps down here, they are running gennys of all types. Not gonna sweat my balls off trying to sleep in an 95 degree cabin. Never had an an issue with a Honda 2000 on last two searays that didn't have on board gennys and we used them every weekend we were out, meaning hundreds of hours use.
