Are you sure that’s a quick connect?

Maybe its a crimped fitting, a poor quality replacement at that.

That looks like an aftermarket (which "can" be good) screw-together fitting. It was probably not assembled fully (hose not pushed all the way in) or it's the wrong size/poor quality. Is that the hose I see in the background? What's the white stuff on it?

The coupling on the P/S hose below the suspect part in the picture has obviously been crimped and secured to the fitting.

The coupling that the hose has blow off still looks round and may have never been crimped to the hose.

Any idea if it blows off while you are turning the wheel (obstruction in the steering actuator)

or just while the engine is running (maybe a blockage in the return line)

If it's crimped, it sure doesn't look it. Maybe take the fitting off, cut an inch off the hose and take it to someone, like Napa, that knows how to crimp.

That part was never swaged properly. You may have gotten them from the same bad batch. If you had a blockage, you would have known immediately something was wrong (sterring wouldnt turn or blow the hose quickly).

Take them to a local hydraulic service center and have them make you some custom hoses with the correct fittings.
