My project 85 '230 Weekender is stuck on a trailer outside the house.

Pray for my family and I as we sit out this storm just 28 miles from the coast.
If you're not into praying, just wish us luck then!!

    Does it float? :)

As long as you aren't by a body of water, river, etc. I think you'll be fine. Just need to have enough supplies to handle the aftermath. Good luck.

I'm not in a flood zone, have a good distance from one. I am 28 miles from the coast and have a chance of seeing both walls of the eye.

No boat is worth risking the lives of your family. Leave the boat behind and head inland. I went through Hurricane Camille in Biloxi and would never want to do that again.

Some things just aren't worth risking your life for, and an old project boat is one of those.

I went through 3 hurricanes over the span of 6 weeks in central Florida in 2004. Charlie, Francis, and Jean. Charlie had the worst winds as the eye came right over my house in east Orlando with 100mph winds and knocked over every tree in the neighborhood. But Francis had a much worse aftermath as it was much slower moving (like Florence) and we were without power for two weeks. We finally owned up and went to a hotel after 5 days. Hopefully you are prepared to be without power for an extended period. Stay safe out there and remember no amount of property is worth yours or your family’s lives.
