Problems with 2006 200 Select

Problems with my 2006 200 Select (5.0 MPI). I can throttle up to 3000 rpm and the tach drops to 2600 rpm and the boat slightly slows, I can again advance the throttle to 3000 rpm and again the tach drops to 2600 rpm and the boat slightly slows. I can advance the throttle to 3500 rpm and the boat runs great. This is repeatable and on smooth water. Any suggestions?

A wild guess, throttle position sensor. I would find another forum maybe Iboats allot more participation. Your issue is mercruiser not searay.
