Offer in on a 1995 370 sundancer

I used to have a 1999 46' maxum with cummins and did all my own work on that.

This searay has 8.1 Horizon gas engines that were put in about 10 years ago but only 150 hours. I like the fact it has low hours but then again it could be bad?
I know the heat exchangers were just serviced because one plugged up but what else should i be concerned about?

I will do seatrial soon and a survey. I've heard it runs great and gets 28-29 knots. The boat gained 2 mph with these 8.1 over the 7.4s so I'm told.

The cabin has a smell but not really a holding tank smell. Engine compartment has no smell and I believe the holding tank is there. What should I look for? I'm trying to find a manual so I can see where everything is on the boat & that will help. Is it next to impossible to replace the head to tank hose?

My wife wants to rip carpet out asap and put in something that is not carpet. I'm told it could be about a $3500 job with something like Infinity flooring (only in cabin). Does this seem right? I've done my own flooring at home so i'm wondering if I should tackle flooring on the boat. Any recommendations I'd appreciate. I saw someone here wrote they used Allure from home depot. What do you guys think?

So for now those are my concerns.
Smell (which isn't terrible), low hours on engines that sit, removing carpet.

thanks for any tips you can send my way

Welcome! Sometimes I can get a smell in the cabin from the head. If a kid flushes and a piece of TP gets stuck in the seal it will start to smell after the water drains out. Could be your sink drains too. Or the sumps are really dirty and not sealed well.

New 8.1's would be sweet. 15 hours of use per year is really light. Along with your survey have a Merc pro check out the motors.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I think I'm jealous.

As for flooring, many posts on the subject here. If you can do it and have the time, I'd save the $3500.

For example, my flooring was 3500, but the materials were sub 1k, and the flooring was unique to marine so a bit over priced, but I really like the result same here, wife said flooring had to go. There are a ton of products out there, Cflor is what I chose.
