hi all, think I have a jabsco light with a ray line switch. light used to go on and light would only move into the down position. now nothing. I know I need to test the switch and power to the light. but I don't know how. I have some voltmeters. please help. thanks in advance. I did check some previous posts on this but no help.

I think I have the same spotlight. It comes on, but does not move in any direction. I goggled the light a saw how expensive the OEM version is. There were some plastic gears mentioned for replacement, but I don't want to get into all of that.

Considering its likely age, it is most likely not worth fussing with trying to fix it. The design is not very robust, and if mounted on the bow, this lights take a lot of pounding. I've replaced several that could not withstand running on Lake Michigan. Our current light is 14 years old and still works fine although I replaced the controller in the chain locker after it got submerged in water during a long run in a big following sea. It is an ACR light, and is very solid performer. Worth a look.

The Sundanceer of that vintage is one of the best layouts ever built by SR. We ended up buying a 370 Express (same design but 1993) because of its straight inboards and our family situation. But, I almost pulled the trigger on the Dancer. Shower design for that sized boat is outstanding. The Express has a wet head that you can make work with a little imagination.

I hope all goes well. Already have 3 buyers for my boat.

Contract is in, awaiting surveyor.
