Removable Weaver Davit question

I just finished mounting the brackets onto the swim platform, however was wondering If I should be drilling another hole where the locking pin goes? Or will I be ok to just sit the pin in...

The pin is there to hold on the main connection part of the weaver davits.

The hole that the pin goes in, on the removeable part, is bigger than the holes that the pin goes through on the swim platform part. So when you push it in, the ball bearing retracts until it gets through that top plate, then the ball bearing pops out......thus holding the pin in place. My explanation is probably confusing. Short answer, no.....don’t drill another hole.
