Hello, I have a 2009 195 Sport and am updating to a Monster Tower, therefore, my current Bimini is obsolete. Does anyone have any recommendations on proper removal and clean up of the mounts? Or, is it not out of the realm of possibility that the current Bimini could be retro-fitted to work once the tower is installed? Or do some cutting and mount to the Tower itself? If that is the case - would still need to remove the original mounts and clean it up (fill holes, etc.).

Any help is appreciated - and hope we can all enjoy the water soon via social distancing (ha!).

Thank you.

I can't speak to the in and outs of replacing/using existing mounts in your switch to tower, but as far as removing existing hardware and fixing the gel coat, no problem.
The Bimini hardware should be fairly easy to remove... may only be top screwed into the gel coat/fiberglass. Worst case, through bolted where you would have to get to the backside to hold a nut. Once removed, the holes can be filled with epoxy, and gel coated over. Matching gel coat is available for your boat through Sea Ray or SpectrumColor.com. You may even be able to do that part yourself... not that hard and several videos are available for learning.

When I added my camper top and a new Bimini, the mounts were affixed with stainless steel wood screws. There shouldn’t be a nut/bolt setup.

Get matching gel coat, I believe Marina Max has small matching jars of Spectrum, just give them your Hull ID. Fill the holes, wet sand with 600-1000, compound and polish and they will miraculously disappear. I’ve done anything from cracks to 1/4”-3” holes myself, and she looks factory.

Entirely possible it may still work with monster tower. From my research in looking for a tower for my 200 sport seemed like it was 50/50 that it would still fit. I think most towers narrow at the top so maybe near rowing existing race is all that is required
