Has anyone removed their built in coffee maker? We have a 2000 400 Sea Ray Sedan Bridge and the coffee maker seems to really be locked in there.

In a 410 da 2000 their is 2 or 4 screws at bottom of shelf that holds coffe maker in place. The plug was in the cubboard on the left.
hope this helps

I removed mine almost right away. It's been a while, so I'm going from the memory here. The railing mechanism that makes the unit slide out/in has screws at the bottom toward the back of the rail. I think it was only two, but you might have to move the rail to see if there's more.

Thanks for the help! I found a screw and took it out but the coffee maker is enclosed in this box frame and on each side of the coffee maker is a plastic "wing" behind the frame that is preventing it from pulling out. I hate to break them off because the coffee maker works great and I want to resell it or put it back in if we ever sell the boat. It's just hard to see how those wings are attached. BD_Coffee2.jpg

Did you ever figure out how to remove the coffee maker? We have been looking to remove ours too but cannot figure out how the darn thing is in there. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

VICTORY!

I just got mine out of my 2001 560 DB. Here is what I had to do:

1) There are two screws on either side of the coffee maker itself that attaches it to the "black box frame." If you remove the coffee pot, there is one on the left, and if you remove the water holder, there is one on the right. Removing those screws allowed the coffee maker to come out

2) Then, there is a metal bracket attached to the back of the box frame that prevents the frame from coming out "too far." With the coffee maker itself out, I was able to access this bracket and unscrew it. This allowed the box frame to come out further, but not "all the way"

3) Once you've pulled out the box frame as far as it will go (having removed the metal bracket above in #2), there are two black tabs underneath the rail. I basically had to look UNDER the frame, and sticking out of the front of each rail, there is a black plastic tab. I took some needle nose pliers and pulled (fairly hard), and they gave way. With the tabs out, the box frame slides out easily, and its a simple matter of removing the remaining screws to remove the rails.

I've attached a picture of the box removed. You can see the tab from the left rail in my hand. The tab on the right rail did not require removal for me (I think it was worn), so you can see it still attached to the right rail.

I now have an extra cupboard to store food! :grin:Screen Shot 2013-07-24 at 7.32.34 PM.jpg

I removed min this morning because it failed. I have a 2001 400 Db and I suspect that it will be similar on other years.
If you take out the carafe there is a phillips head screw remove that.
Insert a flat baled screw driver at the top left of the unit and gently pry the coffee maker out it will come out with a pop sound and then slide out. the cord goes through a grommet down below under the sink to a outlet unplug that and slip the cord out through the grommet.
Now the hard job will be finding something to fit in that space!

I couldn't get mine out, so I took a sawzall to it. I decided then to remove the cabinet it was in. I got more room for dishes.

You may be able to overspend on a "new old stock" that you might find on ebay. Mine is still hanging in there but eventually...
Anyone find a coffeemaker available today that would fit. We've kind of moved entirely to Keurig at home.

That is a huge storage space. I'm concideing a Keureg for that reason alone.

Hi all - This string was very helpful but I thought I would post our experience. We have a 2001 400 Sedan Bridge. The Mr. Coffee served its purpose but was long overdue to be removed. As one of the people said above, there are a couple of steps required. First, remove the coffee pot water carafe and holder for the filter and grinds. Then look inside and to the left, you will see a screw. The screw was to lock the coffee make in place. There were also two plastic sliding brackets on each side between the coffee maker and the box. The one on the right was still working. The one on the left was jammed. We took a hand saw to cut through the sliding mechanism. Once that was done, we were able to pull the machine out. Remember it is plugged in below. We were able to remove the trash bin, and laying on the floor, reach in and unplug the machine. There are 2 plugs near the sink. Perfect for our new Nespresso and Milk frother. Hope this helps.
