My 2011 350 Sundancer has the "Quick Slim Splice" rope and chain. The rope is connected to chain using a type of crimp sleeve. The issue is that the connector from the rope to the chain is badly corroded and I am not certain of its strength. The chain and rope is in excellent condition. Should I take the anchor rode out and have it re-spliced or buy a new anchor rode? Would there be any issues with using an anchor rode with the normal type of rope to chain splice and having it go through the Quick Aleph 1000 windlass that is on the boat?

If the anchor line and chain are in good shape, reverse the line and splice it to the chain.
I was wondering if I used a rope to chain splice, would there be any problem with the anchor rode, when it transitions from rope to chain, of it going through the windlass?

That's why I went all chain. Read about too many problems with splices getting caught up in the windlass.

That's one solution. Nylon rode, though, is one long shock absorber and that's a good thing in a rough anchorage. Splicing certainly can present problems at the transition from rope to chain, especially with 3 strand or double braid. But there's the other solution: use 8-plait. With a decent splice it feeds through a windlass without issue.

I would just splice it. If the end you're working with is good - stick with it. You may want to give the rope a wash/rinse/soak in fabric softener to clean it up and get the salt out of it, first. Plus, it will make splicing easier. A properly done splice should go through the windlass just fine - especially if you do a taper splice. It's not hard to do, if you wanted to splice it yourself. 8-plait is definitely nice - but, really, even 3-strand will be fine - keep up on rinsing it and that will help, too.
