I just bought a 2005 390 sundancer. It has a dual screen setup with the SR Navigator and C120. I am wanting to pull the Navigator and replace it with an Ipad. I found this mount for them which is awesome. Used in airplanes. http://www.sportys.com/pilotshop/ifdr-panel-mount-for-ipad-pro-13.html

The boat went straight to dry storage so I've never taken it out and don't know all the functions of the Navigator. I don't want to lose the functionality of the radar and autopilot. Do they require the Navigator? Is there any other functionality I'll lose by pulling the Navigator?

I pulled my GPS/chartplotter on my Chap 320 and replaced with an Ipad. 20x better - especially for storing all my music and syncing to my stereo system. Any point in downloading the raymarine app?

I suggest you take your iPad out on a bright day and determine how usable you think it would be. The screen tends to wash out in bright sunshine to the extent where it its unusable. iPad would be great as a backup, but I wouldn't want to use it as my primary chart plotter.

It’s fine. I ran my old boat with one.

What is your cruising area? Freshwater inland, great lakes, coastal?

Lake of the Ozarks. I don’t need anything to help navigate me through the ocean. But I also don’t want the autopilot or radar to lose function if I pull the navigator. I’m trying to find out if they run straight to the c120 or run to the navigator at all.
