Hey everyone, as the winter goes on I am in the process of rounding up my new electronics to replace the c80 chartplotter and raymarine dome on my 2004 DA340 Couple questions,

1 When connecting the new radar and garmin mfd can I just follow the original power wires from the old gear and simply remove old and install new wires? Current mfd and radar start of from MFD itself and not from an auxiliary on either pads.

2 If I decide to not change out the thru hull transducer will i still receive the depth info on my sc5000? I never saw a depth read out on the C80 while operating.

3 Where the old mfd is located, I removed the 4 screws that looked to be holding the burl plate in place but it will not seperate from the dash, is there another secondary means of holding this in place? I know the port and sb switch pads are held with bolts behind the dash panel.

1) you may be able Tom use old radar cable as a chase, but it will depend on how many zip ties were used when they did the original build.
2) I think your old setup was NMEA 0183 and the new will be n2k, so they will it really communicate. With garmin, you need the black transducer box with an airman transducer.
3) the old mfd may have some adhesive on it so it does not let water back behind the unit.
