My marina sent this out to several docks yesterday. Can anyone explain how an issue on a boat could cause reverse polarity in the marina? WD-40 on electrical connections? Thank you!
Good Afternoon,
The Harbormasters asked me to send you an email regarding the recent reverse polarity irregularity occurring at your slips.
The marina’s electrical equipment has been checked thoroughly with no problems found, it is not a marina electrical issue.
It is believed that there is something wrong on someone’s vessel that is causing this irregularity. Some equipment that is coming on or off at irregular intervals, for example a bilge pump, water heater, battery charger, air conditioner, inverter, etc.
The marina is asking that each boat owner check their vessel’s electrical systems and equipment to make sure all is working correctly, and to spray connections/terminals with WD40.
Thank you for your cooperation in resolving this issue.
