Salon bilge pump tripping breaker

2000 410 express salon bilge pump tripping breaker after 30 second. I put in a new 2000 rule pump and new float switch. Exactly what was in place and still trips breaker after 30 second. Is this normal? I decided to clean this area that’s when I discovered the breaker popped. This pump is under my couch in the salon and the breaker that is tripping is in the engine room in the black boxes by my batteries. Could it be a bad breaker?

1. What size is the breaker?
2. Check all connections - tight no corrosion
3. Use meter to measure resistance as that will tell your problem
4. Replace the breaker
