Gotta vent a minute. I listed my Maxum bowrider the other day on the usual places and have gotten nothing but scammers so far. They all want me to send them a code that they can then use to scam someone else and hide behind my phone number.
I may try boat trader but I have heard they are scamming on people there too. If I can't get it sold in the next few weeks I may go with a broker and eat the fees.

Kind of sucks to sell it through a broker as I value it under 10k.
If these scammers spent the same amount of time on a legitimate job they probably would do well in life. I'm posting this so others who may not know will not get scammed.

Ok, rant over.

I sold my old boat late last summer. Boat trader sent me nothing but scammers. Facebook required wading thru a whole bunch of BS, but eventually brought me a buyer. One think I liked about Facebook is I was able to see the profile of the interested party. Helped distinguish between the contenders and pretenders. However, most people are a waste of time. It's just a fact of life when selling these days.

I enjoy messing with scammers when selling something. Life it too short to get pissed and the internet is not real :)
Ha! There was an IRS scam a while back, I had the scammer on the line for a good 10 minuets before I gave him hell, good times.

My last boat was in better than pristine condition and had a a lot of extras. I valued it way above bluebook. I posted a dozen pictures on Craigslist and that very afternoon someone came over and bought it on the spot for cash. It took me a few hours before I deleted the post and my e-mail was going wild.

THAT's how I sell things.

i always give mine to local Sea Ray broker. Here, take 10%, you deal with the BS, send me check when sold. Worked out for me every time.
I'm really leaning towards this. I'm in a small market locally. Is 10% the usual fee or do they differ depending on the broker? I'd be ok with that.

Sold my last boat thru "Knot 10" brokerage. Quick sale and the fee was 7%. My experience with them was "A ".
