hello everyone! I am new to boats so learning as I go. I d/l the owners manaul but cant find my answer on what all the switches on the dash do...and what position is on/off. I know the bilige pump should have two setting but mine is either on or off and the switch is only a 2 position switch. Am I missing something? I thought there was a position to select auto float activation?

Me again....

The switch you have on the dash is exactly that for the pump....on or off. However, it may still be wired direct to the battery and work from the float switch all the time. You can test by making sure the dash switch is off and lift the float switch. If the pump runs, you'll know.

If it doesn't, you can still add the 3-position switch. You can find them on eBay for about 30 bucks and they are fairly easy to install. However if it were me and your pump is manual only, I would add a second bilge pump and float switch connected directly to the battery. That's the setup I have in my Cobalt. I like redundancy.

i too prefer redundency...retired Marine so I like to plan for worst case scenerios so I have them covered if they ever happen.

whats the switch on the starboard side on the wall near the throttle? it appears to have a light bulb but nothing happens when I push it? my father in law had a 22ft bayliner and he has no idea what it is either.

Mine only has a 2 position switch for the bilge. The float is wired directly so will (should) activate with the switch in the off position. Verify this works for you.

I do not have a switch by the throttle so not sure what that is.

OK, so whats that button for??

I have never seen that before but it appears to be an indicator light for something and a push-button circuit breaker....maybe.

That's a new one for me. And it's a Quicksilver component. Hmmm.... The mystery continues....

:confused:hmmmm

could that be a replacement trailer button? maybe the original quit working?

interesting idea. not sure as nothing happens when i push it.

i was thinking that. need the rain to stop. i dropped the boat in and got her set up and the rain arrived...and hasnt stopped. forcast has it raining till next week!

I'm going to guess Halon fire extinguisher indicator for the engine room. Sure the button didn't do anything ;)

i know the button didnt do anything...but now you have me questioning if the system works...when the rain stops I will have to check to see if its hooked up. i know the extinguisher is in the biliage.
