According to an article in the Everett Herald, this January's Boats Afloat boat show will be the last one held in Seattle before the show moves to Everett.

Here's the link....

According to the show organizers, the south Lake Union site is becoming too heavily trafficked by boats and the seaplane traffic.

I wonder what that will do to the overall attendance to the Seattle Boat Show. That hour and a quarter drive between Seattle and Everett is probably enough to keep me from wandering up there to see the boats.

How about you other PNW boaters?

Yes, I heard that last month... It's kind of almost 2 different shows really... Inside you have brand new boats up to a 60' ? and lots of boats smaller and accessories. Boats afloat has some new boats and lots of used bigger boats. And the fall show is strictly floaters. I guess if you are in the market for used big boats you'll go to the floating show and if not you'll be at Century link. (I won't be going to Everett)

We're coming over to Seattle for the January show, most likely the first weekend. We have kids (and grands) in Ballard so there's a handy place to crash for the weekend. With free tickets to the show and a free flop house to hang out in, could it get any better?

There's a loosely organized group of loose boaters that I've been loosely attached to for many years. (Do you get the picture that this is a loose group?)

For years this group has met Saturday mornings at IHOP for a breakfast and some swapping of lies before heading to the show. This is the first year in quite awhile that we'll be going because we're usually down south. Lots of catching up to do.

I would like to be there but, my winter's are at 5,000 feet... On the weekends.

Yes I think that Everett is a longer haul than its worth for me. That means I should find a weekend to go this year.
