This last summer while held up in the Huron River Basin for the weekend Lake Erie was being tossed with 6' to 8 ' waves. Considering the conditions I was more then surprised to see my old 230Wk. come rolling in that i sold three years ago before I bought my 310Da. Now lets just say my PO boat was in the need for a good cleaning but it was nice to see it still on the lake and not sitting in someones backyard rotting away. The 230Wk. was the boat that brought me to Lake Erie and the Sea Ray that Brought me here.

I saw my prior 340 cruise by me last summer. It was quite nostalgic. She had a pretty unique antenna arrangement which made her easy to spot. She looked good cruising by...

A year after I bought the 44, I hit a big rock outcropping and had the boat hauled out for repair. As I was roaming around the yard I saw my previous boat, a Rinker 350 on blocks with damage to both sets of props! Have not seen it since though it lives in the next marina over.
Carpe Diem

After three years I saw the original Linda Jean; a 1994 400DA. From the out side she looked a bit worn. Kind of sad

We stumbled across our first boat a couple of years ago on the Trent Severn. We bought it new in 1988 and kept it on lake Ontario. It was still in great condition...even original name.

I saw my old 26' for sale a few year ago. Looked decent but the then current owner had sold off the trailer and ripped out the generator to sell for cash. She was immaculate when I sold her and it hurt to see.

My previous 33' was sold buy the guy I sold it to last year...and I stumbled on the current owners new for sale ad. Really pains me to see, such a pretty boat we have so many memories on! Radar is no longer on the arch and she's got two new engines... crazy on an '08. I knew the guy who bought her wasn't a boater....but....damn!

My first boat, a 76 mercury marquis I sold to a Buddy and saw it all the time

My second boat, a 96 Rinker 196, sold to another buddy, and saw it til he sold it a couple year later.

Third boat, 2002 FW 268, I sold to a stranger about 2 hours from where I boat, and again, see it all the time, boats on the same lake....

The first 2 were ok with how they treated it, but didn't invest anything in the boats at all. Just used them and put them away. Third one, the jury is still out... he is a mechanic, so I know it will always run great!

I guess people like us (people on this forum), just like to upgrade, maintain and improve boats, then there is the people out there that do the minimum...

We sold our 1986 250DA in July 2018 to a couple about 40 miles away near downtown Pittsburgh. Last spring we had flooding and somebody posted a video from that marina and our boat was sitting there in it's slip. Knew it was ours cause it still had 'Naut Nutz' on the back. If anyone on here is in the Pittsbugh area and sees it that's our old one. It's white with blue and new Sunbrella canvas

I see mine all the time and it’s not getting any prettier.

It took until the middle of last summer for them to put the canvas up and I saw it on the hard yesterday with the canvas up, open to the weather and full of snow.

Kinda pisses me off.

My old boat is at the same boat club I belong to so I see it all the time. The new owner is a friend and asks advice from time to time. He tries to keep it up, but time wears on all of us.

I still see my first SR on here. Good to know he takes better care of it than I ever knew how. I've learned a lot from this forum.

They are like ex-girlfriends. You hopefully love the one you are with, but you always wonder what ever became of the one you left. You remember the good times and some of the bad times. Its sad to see when they have let themselves go or been mistreated. Sometimes you have zero regrets, but other times...... (just don't let the current one know...)

I used to see our 197 Monaco at our launch ramp all the time. Then the new owner ran it across a rock shoal (that is well known in the area) ripped the lower unit off, collected the insurance (I assume), and bought a new boat. We saw him and his new boat all the time for a while.

Never saw it after that.

I see my brother in laws boat frequently. It was a 22 ft cuddly. He sold it and the new owner kept it at the same marina. He had no clue what he was doing - a real meat head. He kept calling my brother in-law with all kinds of questions and eventually wacky demands.

After a couple months of ownership the guy abandoned it at the yard. It’s been sitting, uncovered, for about 5 years. What was nice little boat is now a wrecked mess.

I pulled into B Dock at Put In Bay 5 years ago and the dock master told me my old boat was going to tie up at the dock. He told the new owner he could not tie up at the dock seeing how bad the boat looked. He then proceeded to tell the new owner it was terrible to see the boat in the condition it was in. And that is why he did not want it docked there.

Damn B dock dock master sure can be hardcore it had to be pretty bad considering what I've seen in the past tied up to those docks.

If boats are like girlfriends my first love was small, skinny and no trouble what so ever.... My current one is big, wide, drinks like a fish and costs 10X more to keep happy ...and don't get me started about high maintenance :)
Perfectly stated

My first SeaRay a 2000 190 SD I'm glad I don't see. My cousin lived on the same lake as the guy that bought it. Two weeks after I sold it she saw it getting towed by her house with an oil slick from the lower unit trailing behind. She never saw it covered up, always open to the elements. :(:(
My second SeaRay a 2006 220 SD I don't see either but I believe it is getting taken care of well. Sold it to a nice older couple that was taking it up north to Lake Charlevoix. They paid more for mine than another boat they were looking at because mine was cleaner.
My third SeaRay a 1998 310 DA I see quite often. He boats on the same lake and actually keeps it at the same marina I used to be in. He's done some upgrades and loves the boat.:):) Whenever I see him in the bays he always comes over to say hi and invites me on the boat to show me what he's done since the last time I saw it.:):)
