So I received a service bulletin in the mail today regarding my 2018 SDX270. The letter states “some have been found to have hull cracks under the head unit. If left undiscovered, the boat can take on water. Take it to a dealer for service.”
So in the car world there are service bulletins that are more suggestions, and recalls which are mandatory. Not sure how this works for boats. Is this letter saying if I have cracks then service is needed, or is it saying service is needed cracks or no cracks? I am completely capable of inspecting my hull and not dragging my boat for 2 hours to leave it at the dealer in the spring until they get around to looking at it just to say “nope, no cracks..”. But if it means there is service to be done to prevent the cracks, then I guess I have no choice.
I will have to call my local dealer to get clarification on what this means.
Anyone else get the letter or know the answer?
