The information for the port side, some times works, and them stop working (after turn it off), in both, Analog gauges and the Smartcraft.

Thanks

Paul,

The most common way to wire a Smartcraft network with two engines is to have short cables in the ER connect to a junction box in the ER and then a single CAN cable is run to the helm to another junction box. The helm j-box is where the gauges and displays plug into the network.

If all your portside engine data is showing up erractically, then it sounds like there may be a bad connection between the port engine and the ER jbox.

I am only familar with Smartcraft on gas engines and this may significant to your problem. On a gas engine the data for SC such as oil pressure, RPM, volts, water temp, etc. all comes from the engine computer (ECM). The ECM also keeps the engine running. So a bad ECM would immediately manifest itself in a dead engine. Since there is no need for an ignition system on a diesel, the black box that collects the data for SC may not play as a significant role in the operation of the engine. So it may also be whatever is collecting the data from the various engine sensors and putting it into the SC network that is having a problem.

Thank you for your help

I called Marine Max. The information go directly from the SC to the analog gauges.

The engine runs perfect, and its an intermittent fail, thats mean full information or zero information.

I'm going to check the cabling and connectors, maybe the vibration is causing it.

Thank you once again
