Hello, I have a sea ray 345 sedan bridge that has a very annoying electrical problem. First off I have all new battery's in the boat, 4 GR 27 6 volt house batteries, 1 GR 27 starting battery and 1 dedicated GR 27 bow thruster battery. All the house batteries read 6.3-6.4 volts, I don't think the batteries are the problem.
The problem I'm having is all the lighting, all the navigation equipment, all the water systems, head systems, trim tabs, horn etc... Has a super low voltage coming to everything. I pulled one of the bulbs out of the cabin lights and put a meter to it and it read 3.3 volts
All lighting is very dim and when you turn somthing else on while a light is on it dims even more to barely any brightness. And the navigation equipment upstairs flashes and beeps "LOW BATTERY"

Lastly I have a problem with the bow thruster, I was driving at a slow speed in the harbour and all of a sudden the bow thruster turns on by it self without warning, and I couldn't turn it off from the controls. I ran down stairs and hit the bow thruster emergency shut off and haven't looked at it since.
ANY AND ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED PLEASE!!!

Thank you guys in advance, I really need help with this one

Thanks, I was thinking about that and I will check it when I get down to the boat!

Sorry, I usually don't have much luck getting any answers so I did that.

345, I have not updated my profile yet.

dunno but his first post seemed pretty clear to me....345 sedan bridge?

What?! I said it was a sea ray 345 sedan bridge in my post.

Oscarlyy - you need to do a little more work and then a little more typing your get the best out of the site and its members. Or hire a marine lectrician.
More info:-
When did this start, under what conditions, after some work, after the batteries were fitted?
If you are on dock power want is the voltage at the batteries and at the light fitting.
When the engines are running what is the voltage at the alternators.
As someone has said - grounds could be the cause - from the battery negative terminals to the engine do you have a voltage.
Who put in the new batteries, how are they configured.

If you post as much info about thes symptoms we call all help more. Given the issues I would not try to take it out again until you get to the bottom of this.

Thank you for your help and I'll take the tips. I hired a marine electrician to come take a look at the electrical system because there are a couple other little things wrong with the electronics too. But I'm thinking its a bad ground now.
Thankyou for your reply!
(P.S, I live over in Sidney so we're very close)

Wise. Let us know want he finds so we can share the knowledge with others.

You are in a great boating location - we often drop into the Sidney and Saanich marinas when visiting the San Juan islands. Drop me a PM if I can help with anything.
