My car is so fast that these guys feel like it's their job to pull me over and tell me just how fast I was going :).... This was last week.... First ticket ever in Ohio... Hopefully they don't reciprocate with Indiana or Michigan...

What did you end up doing with your insurance? We have something called a high risk pool in Michigan for folks who enjoy going fast.

MM gave me his contact he was higher... My car is licensed in Indiana where my home is...so my insurance company in Michigan where my business is couldn't help me so we stayed with our Indy broker... My wife doesn't know about the latest speeding ticket ...yet... Hopefully never, if they don't reciprocate :)

You have a reasonable reserve right? So relax and enjoy the ride. Worse case is you're out a few hundred dollars.

Very responsible I think, probably not as high as people think considering the high dollar parts that are in the car but I also know you never get out what you put in. I am getting requests for a driving video so I am trying to figure out that one, I might have to take rip through our sub, right now it only has storage insurance and unregistered.

I just added a bunch of new information on the car. I was also watching that RSR motor that was being auctioned I can’t believe it didn’t hit reserve at $48,000 that’s crazy considering I think it was a clone I have some of the same parts so I know what they cost I would have figured 48 would have taken it. I have around 14 just in the motor.

Here is our current classic car. 55 Post, built SBC, turbo 400, power discs, power steering, chrome tilt column, 17" torque thrust II's.

Daily driver is a boring Toyota Highlander. Weekend driver is a 2008 N54 BMW 335i convertible that I've tuned up to 400 horsepower. I've also gone catless, so far I have done all the work myself. My fingers were crossed for the first annual state inspection last week after going catless, it passed. I wanted red brake calipers but I'm not planning to race the car so I didn't buy upgraded calipers, rather I painted them, I'm happy with the result.

She's not getting much love right now because the boat's getting all the attention.

Catless
MHD stage 2 tuned
Upgraded struts
Upgraded intercooler
Upgraded charge pipe with blow off valve
Blacked out LED side lamps and blacked out M3 grill
Upgraded coils and plugs
xHP flashed transmission
K & N cone air filters

For some reason I am attracted to old, neglected Volkswagens. My first car was a 66 Bug that got me into a lot of trouble with the law as a kid. Naturally when our twin boys were about ready to start driving we built with them a Thing and a Baja Bug to get to school. I had a 1959 "Samba" 23 window bus back in the early 90s that I should have never sold, so a few years ago I decided to build another bus. With prices soaring in the past 5-10 years, I took on a long term project starting with the rear 2/3rds of a 59 bus and the front third of a 62 bus. The metal work is now done and we are working on a Subaru conversion to bump the hp from the stock 36 to a little over 200.

Okay now that is impressive, nice job.

We had a red 69 or 68 VW bug as a kid. It was basically my dad's truck, he hauled everything in that thing. While converting a wooden fishing boat to an oyster boat I remember carrying the mast and boom, made of metal, hanging off the roof over the side doors, as well as the metal table he made for going through the oysters as they dropped off the tongs.

That car got passed down to the kids but never made it to me.

Midnight blue 1969 Dodge Charger with a 440 6 pack was always my dream car. Too darn expensive now to pick one up.

Im jealous. Was looking at a 328 convertible today. May have to pull the trigger

I'm "cool carless" (I've owned at least 30) and not sure if I will ever get back into it. At my age, I'm not about to take on a project. Done cars are $100,000+. This was my last car that wasn't really done but close. Had an injected 502, 700r4 trans, vintage air. Here was its last picture. Getting dropped off at GR Auto Gallery. It sold to someone in New York within a week.

Beautiful!

I was mid restoration on a '72 Chevelle. Completed all the panel replacement (literally every panel) and threw it in storage during a move. A tornado decided to come through while I was back in my hometown. I literally saw the car on the helicopter news shots. Circled in red. The other locations circled are where I had stuff stored in the facility. Just demolished.
