The 4 channel clarion marine amp died end of LY in our 240 SA. During the holidays, I installed an Alpine amp. It is a car amp versus the previous marine amp. All wiring remained identical except I used upgraded RCA cables for inputs from the head unit. There is also the older 2 channel clarion marine amp still there for sw.
1st time in the water this past weekend and the system sounded great. No issues until we came in for the day. When I pressed the tilt trim button to raise drive for trailering purposes...I got popping from speakers. I pressed this multiple times (up or down) and popping noise thru the speakers occurred again.
Doing a search here...I found a post from 2010. One of the fixes is to install a capacitor in-line of the blue (up) and another cap in-line of green (down) wires. I found multiple posts showing this as a remedy.
Given the location of the trim pump/solenoid in the rear transom area plus I am 6-4....could this be done at the throttle control at the helm?
Other possible remedies?

I had a similar issue but stereo sound would cut off when trimming, ended up being battery terminals were slightly loose.

Need to wire a (2) capacitor across the trim motor switch wires. Up circuit to ground and down circuit to ground. Lat time I address this, I used a 16V 1000af polarized.
