spotlight bulb replacement

I did this upgrade as well, with one small twist. These bulbs only have 1 pattern, but you have 2 switch positions and two wires. Instead of joining the wires together, I used only one of them and repurposed the other wire to carry my chain counter signal.

Saved me a bunch of time not having to run a new wire from the helm all the way up to the anchor locker. Never underestimate the value of an extra wire.

Oh, and the bulb is the bomb.

Just used the new LED for the first time, very much a nice addition. Lots of light navigating our narrow inlet. Also used it to light up my neighbors pier for them as they were walking up to their house.

So better then the old in person or not?

Most of the wiring is done at the helm. Power, Up, Down, and Ground are just wired in parallel to your existing anchor switches. That leaves only one new wire that has to go up to the Anchor locker. The gypsy gets a permanent magnet attached, then the sensor is mounted such that the magnet "crosses" it on every revolution. The sensor has 2 wires, one goes to the ground available at your windlass motor. The other wire is the one that has to go back to the chain counter at the helm. This is the counter I installed

The pics don’t make me a believer but pics suck compared to real life. Then amazon reviews show people putting them on motor cycles... and someone driving down the road with one of my spot lights on would be crazy bright?

So I have notnpulled trigger. EVERY other light is LED on my boat though.

And if the LED only has one function I would leave the other dead function dead... so you can move the spot light around with no light on... to get it turned with out blinding your self.

I did this on my 1994 300DA, Jabsco w/Par36 aircraft lamp, the aircraft lamps are only rated for 50 hours
Dual spot/flood LED
I went direct to manufacturer (China of course) and got one for about $25 with shipping
Northern Tool is $50
they are for John Deer tractors and several other tractors 24 watt
The guide pin is a bit larger than the glass and required enlarging a bit and a little finess to get get ring back on but definitely worth it.

Just replaced bulb with OEM Marinco bulb - just didn’t want the hassle of rewiring LED. Does anyone know where I can get a new rubber gasket to seal it. It is not listed in the parts manual? Thank you.
