Steering

Good morning -

First run of the season has the steering not smooth. While turning the steering wheel, almost feels as if it's slipping a bit. This is my 8th season with the boat and although I take care of winterizing and spring commissioning, I'm not sure if I've missed something with respect to possible lubrication of the rudder connections in the bilge, etc. I do also see a cap on the steering column I'm assuming receives some type of fluid. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your steering is hydraulic... you may be low on fluid or have air trapped in the system.

It takes special "Teleflex/Sea Star" fluid. Here is a thread on the subject:
