Hello Everyone, Thank You All for your help with my stereo problem, I am putting the boat away for the winter an and wondering about how to store the isinglass. I read some were that it is best to put soft lint free cloth between the sections and roll it for storing in its bag. Is this the best way if so what type of material are you using?

I store the sections indoors, flat, under the bed in the guest room. Put old towels or sheets in between the sections....and keep the damn cat from going under there .....

All that is clearly (pun intended) unnecessary. You can fold or just wad it up with zippers right on the glass as the previous owner of my boat did and it will still keep the rain out. Oh, you are supposed to be able to see through it too. What a novel idea. I wish the PO had asked this question.

I made a rack in my garage to store my Strataglass windows and it works well. To make the rack, I put up three parallel 1"x3" boards about 4' long, spaced about 1.5' apart, and screwed them to the rafters. In each of the 1"x3"'s I screwed in small, brass cup hangars, spaced about 2" apart. They look like this.....

I use the type of paper binder clip that is used in an office and clip three of them to the Strataglass. I then hang the binder clips from the cup hooks. The windows hang vertically without touching each other.

Clean mine with Plexus, wipe on a coat of 303 and hang them. If you put cloth between them make sure that the cloth is smooth, not towels etc.

So I cleaned mine with the west marine strata glass cleaner inside and out... Have the two soft top bimini pieces from the arch and the camper canvas frame leaning against the wall in the basement. Draped the isinglass panels over the camper canvas arch with either towels or sheets between each layer.

Jersey Mike - What happens if you use towels? I thought the goal was to keep them from sticking together or scratching on each other. What does a towel do to the glass?

Thanks!

I am in indoor heated storage...what is wrong with just leaving them installed as if it were outside?

Several years ago i ended up with some pebble grain impressions from the towels.
