Hello

Newbie here and look forward to looking through the posts.

I am in the process of buying a Sundancer. It was advertised as a 340/365. The manuals are for a 340 but the boat is numbered a 365 on the hull.

Confused, why 340 and 365?

Apologies if it is a stupid question

Thanks

David

Welcome to CSR David.......No question is ever stupid in this forum. Everyone is here to help you and you will certainly use this resource over and over as we all do! European versions of the boat are labeled with odd "5" third character. I would certainly confirm this with a simple Google search.
***By the way...make sure you get a certified hull and engine survey***

Thank you for your reply and welcome.
We've had it lifted and a insurance approved hull survey, independent engine test and sea trial, all is good.
We are in Western Australia and the boat was imported from the USA about 2 years ago so not a European version. Boat is a 2001.

They were also marketed like that in Australia. The previous owner likely rebadged it that way after importing to match the others from the factory over there. My 2005 340 is a 375 where you are as the length overall is 37.5 feet. Without looking I’m guessing the 2001 340’s LOA is around 36.5 ft, and so it’s called a 365 in your neck of the woods. Not sure why they didn’t market them like that in North America.

MProd is correct. The European versions use the actual overall length which includes the swim platform. My 360 is a 395 international.

I was thinking of moving overseas just so I could get a bigger boat without getting a bigger boat! :)

Thank you for your replies and MProd's explanation. This makes sense as the boat is just less than 36.5 ft including the swim platform.
Thanks for clearing this up.
David
