Sundeck 260 (2014) switch broke, can't take off darn panel

I unscrewed all the rings to the toggle switches, went to the storage compartment, took off panel behind steering wheel and I can see 4 impossible to reach screws. So if those come off w/ some ridiculous contortion using a deep well socket, is there some other impediment like caulk or a ninja hiding in there? Why do they make it so difficult to replace one freaking switch?
