I have the GHS swim platform and it has always been finicky about going up and down. I attributed that to my lack of knowledge on how to operate it. It goes up and down but takes a lot of button pushing and then it just starts working. Same result on fob or wired remote.

I really didn’t use it much so never gave it to much thought. The boat came out of storage today and the marina had the same issues and thought it might be a relay. They are not a Sea Ray dealer so haven’t had much experience with the GHS product. I bought a new dinghy this past winter so I will be using it more now so I would like to have it operating correctly. They are checking with Mfg but I thought I’d throw it out here as well.

You need to hold one of the buttons down for 3 or 4 seconds to "turn it on"....After that it should work imediately when you push the buttons. (that is what you are describing)

1) You need to get power to the lift (the switch in the cockpit)

2) You need to hold down one of the buttons for 3 to 4 seconds (any button) on the remote to activate

3) the buttons will work correctly after you do this

I agree with this. It seems random when doing it but it works every time. I have not been able to figure out the “sequence” of buttons to push on remote but just pushing a bunch turns it on. Apparently it doesn’t matter which button I push to turn it on which is good to know.

Yes, this is by design. Turn the switch on, hold the down button for a few seconds. It will beep as if it is going down then stop. You then release the button then immediately press again. I don’t recall if you have to follow this sequence raising after having it down for a while also.

I never even thought about it but if I am out on dingy and come back is there a timer that turns power off?
Mine times out and I need to turn the power back on to it to retrieve the dingy.

Are you guys talking about the key fob or wired remote? I only need to turn on the power switch (on the dash and I added one in the cockpit as well) and push up or down and the platform responds immediately. I've never experienced a lag but I only use the fob.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but if someone can tell me what the wireless remote/FOB is for the GHS swim platform I would truly appreciate it. Happy to buy from GHS directly if i have to but they literally charged me 2x for a new wired remote last year. A bit annoying.

Purchased one directly form them last season to fix an issue which has yet to be resolved. If I recall it was less than $100 for the fob.

Appreciated.
Which means it would be no more than $50 everywhere else..
I've wasted $50 before, and will do it again. It's just it really bothered me... Silly, im sure.

Anyway, I would still appreciate it if someone had any info on the actual fob.
Thanks
Shaps

I see several use the same FOB as our GHS lifts including Freedom. Perhaps try calling Bob the owner over there. I just saw him last week at our marina helping install a lift, and spoke with him for a few minutes. He's not only extremely knowledgeable, but a straight shooter. Maybe worth a shot to see if he can answer your questions?

@TNT8808
I agree, Bob was helpful when i dealt with him last year. I was just trying to not overpay for a generic wireless fob.

Spoke with ghs. Here is the run down.
Momentary rocker switch powers up for on and down for off.
If unit does not receive command signal within 2min after powered it will safety lock out. ** Holding power button on or off for 6 seconds will reset. **
They do this so that fob in your pocket does not activate while cruising. Makes sense right?
