Tim....congrats on the new job. We have been getting lake time recently, but missed quite a bit of time, early on with the high water. Times do change with families. We had our 1 year old grand daughter on the boat for the 1st time last week. She loves water, but hates the life jacket.

That's awesome, Jeff. a third generation on the boat! I can't wait for that. We went out despite the high water. Only problem was that our dock was inaccessible so we had to put our boat back in the high and dry every night. I always ride the boat in and put it on the trailer now (less dock rash). But I prefer only one launch and one loading per weekend. And the more they handle our boat with the lift the more likely they are to hit something. The only guy that loves to put our boat in the rack is the one that is the worst operator. The good operators know how difficult it is to put our boat up since the weight is near the lift capacity.

Well, Labor Day is behind us. What a zoo. Highway 44 was bumper to bumper all the way from STL to Springfield. Our marina was a mess. The lake was ok. Looking forward to some pleasant fall boating. Being empty nesters gives us much more flexibility in the spring and fall. Also helps to have a steady income again. Today is my youngest's 21st. First time to drink.....legally. Fake IDs have gotten very sophisticated in recent years. Gonna hit Springfield on the way to the lake to buy him a drink....first one I have paid for. Then, hopefully a peaceful weekend of boating.

Had to have MarineMax replace the front end of the raw water pump last week. I found that it was leaking the weekend before Labor Day. Could have done it myself, but I had to work. So, $857 later we have a new pump. I had to tell myself that at least I don't have to do the impeller this year....

There seemed to a lot of boat traffic over Labor Day weekend...perhaps more than I have seen in a few years.

We have been doing a lot of cruising over the last few weekends. Need to justify the cost of having the front end of the water pump replaced (at least now I know where the water in the bilge was coming from). We have now been as far north as Cape Fair and west as Black Oak. Beautiful part of the lake. We didn't know what we've been missing. Had never been past Kimberling City. We are talking about moving our boat to the Port of Kimberling and finding a house or condo up that way.

We went out for fireworks at Big Cedar. It seems MM has been selling a lot of Crest pontoons. They need to explain to their buyers that running with their "head lights" and the blue LEDs on the outside of the pontoon under the deck isn't legal. You would think they would at least explain the docking lights. Kept water patrol busy pulling toons over to explain the lighting regs.

They may have....could have been in one ear and out the other.

Lights, yeah, yeah ,yeah... I got this... where are the keys??

General boating laws seem to be lost on most....it's definitely gotten worse over the 30 years I've been on the water.

Well, going on a year since the last post here. Figured I'd at least bump it so no one forgets it's here...assuming I'm not the only one left on Table Rock....

Me either. Still waiting for my windshield frame to be replaced. Marina is letting us use their 23' Centurion tow boat. Have found that a small wake boat is not good for family cruising....

Hello all, we have a 2000- 380 DA

curious what marinas you would recommend for annual slip rental. We live in Illinois, so we would want to be at that end of the lake, if possible.

Any details as to why you recommend that marina would be awesome.

    Thanks in advanceM

There are several options, but to the best of my knowledge all will come with a waiting list:

    - Big Cedar/Long Creek marina - Off highway 86, south of the 86 bridge. Run by Bass Pro. Nice place.
    - Table Rock State Park - Near the dam. I don't know what the supply/demand for 40' + slips is. We put our name on the waiting list for a 30' slip and it took a little over a year for one to come free. We ended up passing. But this is a very well run operation.
    - Indian Point - I have heard there is a waiting list, but that's all I know except their restaurant isn't good.
    - The Harbor - Operated by the same brothers that operate State Park. Looks nice. This is where Jeff keeps his 360, so he could probably give you some local knowledge.
    - Port of Kimberling - This is in Kimberling City, off highway 13. It is a big and busy marina. Their dry storage is 1st class. They have a decent restaurant. This is about as far west as we would keep our boat (we live in St. Louis).

We keep our boat in a dry storage facility located in the development our condo is in. It is called Branson Bay Marina. They are not equipped to rack your boat. Your boat on a trailer would push the limits of the equipment they have.

That's all I can come up with off the top of my head. Hope that helps.

Great info, thank you very much. This is a long term plan to move that way. So a wait list would be fine. Love bull shoals, norfork and TRL, need to retire that way

    Thanks again!

Well, MarineMax has once again abandoned Table Rock. Just a couple months after moving to Branson West from Rock Lane. Amazing.
