I have a Sundancer 340 and was thinking about installing teak flooring in cabin. Any recommendations?

All kinds of DIY projects have been profiled and documented on this site. Just put the flooring replacement question in the search and go to town.

Just another alternative is snap in "runners" made from Infinity woven PVC. I have templates for the 340 (all areas).

Jimmy, Come by sometime and take a look at what I did in the salon of the 44. I'll be down at the boat on and off for the next three weeks doing my winter service and some upgrades. PM me.

We just purchased a 2001 310DA, and the first thing my wife said was, "this carpet has GOT to go!". Each of those options look very nice, and I realize our boat is smaller, but can you guys provide a ballpark price for someone who (unfortunately) is NOT a DIY?

I paid $3500 in 2016 for my 320, the guys who did it regretted it, the labor was way higher than expected. He said he should have charged 4500. I had the partial wood floor from sea ray, just for the kitchen, the rest was carpet. That made it difficult to smooth out to create a level surface. I probably still have dust in my cabin from the sander. I believe I used a product called NuTeak by cflor

If you are not hard over on having wood, there are a bunch of floating vinyl options. Try the link below. You will see what I did with Allure from Home Depot. about 1.50 a square foot.

Thanks - but the links in that other thread to dropbox appear broken. We are certainly OK with anything other than what we've got, but I'm not really a DIY, especially when reading some of the threads of how much prep work is required for the subfloor. I just don't have that skill set.

    Sorry, right you are.
I ran out of space and moved my 370 pics elsewhere.
As a non DIY this ought to scare the hell out of you. 2 big things. Use the Harbor Freight vibration scraper to get the carpet up, and 2, make a template of your floor, and then transpose that to an already built floor. Cut it into pieces you can handle, and lay it down.

370dancer. Beautiful job on the floor! We are doing ours this spring or summer. Where did you get the aluminum trim pieces for the floor hatches?

Do a google search for jonnycorners.com
He builds them for in floor emergency shelters. It was the ticket. I had to shim the cleats for the hatches in the floor as the new flooring added an 8th of an inch or so. I didn't want the hatches floating just on the side rails. Full weight would have made them come loose over time. See that site where I show some pics of the edges of the hatch wells. Looks like another 370 Sundancer did a floor as well. They are in the portfolio on the site. My flooring is maple color.

It just occurred to me that you could just use some scrap of the flooring, and glue it to the bottom of the hatches to get them up to the correct height.

The Johnny corners are not too pricey either. Thanks for the link
