The Grim reaper strikes. Official death thread

Bob Sagat.
Sidney Poitier
Cicily Tyson

Man you know you're getting old when many of the names you grew up with cross over the bar.
Cicely Tyson passed almost a year ago and she was 96.

Some of these celebrity deaths do hit home for sure, especially the ones who pass in their middle years. It really drives home the concept of 'live for today'. My advice is, buy that better or bigger boat or RV or whatever tickles your fancy today if it doesn't put you in a bind. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

My gfs parents taught her to be frugal and save, which I love. They recently retired and are spending money like crazy (new 2 car garage, trips, new cars, etc.). She asked them "why the change" yesterday. She got a similar reply, which I agree with.

The way I look at it, at least unless you just plain blow your fortune at the craps tables or insanely opulent vacation cruising, Whatever improvements you do to your home or even your boat, most if not all of the equity will still be there to pass on or liquidate if needed in the future for use in later years. I guess the real hat trick is to make sure you have enough to live comfortably until your number is called, but not so much that you left opportunities on the table.

I have said this on the here before but each and eveyone of us is blessed when our feet hit the floor in the morning.
As far as money goes I recommend enjoying what you have or someone else is going to. Oh we do our best to include grand kids in our splurges, no doubt they will be a lot of stories told about old pap for a few decades. (Priceless!)

So a blurb that Meat Loaf died from Covid and he was against vaccinations.

I remember when my brother bought Bat Out of Hell in the summer of 1977 (was home from UT for the summer) and we played it for the first time. We both thought it was unreal. The arrangements, his range, the lyrics. I continued to listen to it regularly to this day.

Bob Saget and Betty White were having dinner last night. Betty asked Bob what they should have. Bob said meatloaf.
