The Official 450 Express Bridge Owners Club

Jack,
The hose mounting I believe was Sea Ray's attempt to deal with vibration with mounting pumps to the hull. My original fresh water pumps were also mounted on tubing. When I replaced the fresh water pumps, I was able to reuse the OEM tubing. Unfortunately when I replaced the macerator pump, the bolts that were used to hold down the original pump were corroded. Instead of fighting with them, I just picked up new hose and stainless hardware.
Here are the fresh water pumps:

Both my potable pumps were replaced last year as one was inoperable and both were badly corroded and probably original. I had someone do it for me so have to look close at the mounting when back late next week. Incidentally, had a boost hose on after cooler break loose from a broken clamp. Running at 2100 rpm, suddenly stbd went to 1500. Entered engine room, felt like an industrial fan blowing. Found busted clamp and hose disconnected. Shut it down, disconnected other hose end, reinstalled the hose with two new clamps, good to go. 5 minute trip delay...glad it was simple. Ordered more clamps to have aboard plus hi temp hose sealing duct tape.

Our boat had a cockpit cover at some point based on all the snaps. I am planning on new canvas this spring so may add that to the order. https://www.boatswains-locker.com/ was the OEM for our boat and they quoted $8,500 for a whole new set (25% discount to do it all vs. puece meal), will need to see of they have the specs for the cockpit cover. Of course, cockpit cover doesn't fix a rub rail leak...lol.
Thank you again Kevin for the link. My boat came with a bag with canvas that the prior owner had stored in the hull. I had gone through it and located a few items that he didn’t use, but I thought were great such as the cockpit seat/couch cover. I also have pieces that I have no idea where they go. After seeing your post, I went on to Boatswain’s website and confirmed they can make everything for a 450 EB!
That got me motivated to find that old bag full of canvas (I hid it in my garageo_O). I remember seeing an invoice in it. How about this for vintage, over 23 years later…The Boatswain’s Locker invoice to Sea Ray Boats dated July 15, 1998.

Your welcome! That is amazing that the invoice was in there.

Hello all, I have a '99 450EB, and Fresh Water Pump #2 is leaking. Does anyone know what pump, etc I should buy that has the same bolt pattern, voltage, GPM? I have heard Aquaking may be the closest. Thank you.

Welcome to CSR Jim! I replaced both of my fresh water pumps to the "Aqua King II" in March of 21. Here is a thread that I posted in the general section with the part numbers etc: http://www.clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/dual-fresh-water-pump-advise.103058/
If you are able to, post a picture of two of your boat. I would also love to see your HIN number located on the stern/starboard corner of your boat. It will look like this:

Update: I called The Boatswain’s Locker yesterday and found out they do not have the pattern for the aft curtain/cockpit cover. They have everything else for a 450 EB if you need anything.

Ughh, bummer. May need to see of they can sell me the material after I get a local sources to give me the rough size.

I just ordered a full set of canvas from them. Very excited to see the results.

Can't wait to hear how it comes out, what color?

I am hoping to get mine done in the next two months. My curtains are just starting to disintegrate.

I have what one might call a bridge hardtop & surround, but really it's Stamoid, as is the cockpit full cover. Because I have thinning and pin-holes developing, above the supports, I used a clear non-skid tape on the underside of the Stamoid, placed above the SS supports. The adhesion is amazing on the Stamoid, and should provide against further degradation at the supports. I also have a couple places where the aluminum track headers rivets or screws pulled out or snapped off. Rivets on the bridge, screws on cockpit. I used SS wire to support where busted rivets are, and new SS self tapping screws at the cockpit header. I also twice removed sections of the bridge surround to repair torn off zippers. Not so easy to glide them off the tracks but was doable. Took them home to an auto & Marine canvas guy here in GA. Couldn't get 3 different Marine canvas companies in Ft. Meyers the least bit interested in repairs. They want the big jobs. One guy quoted me $15,000 for a complete bridge redo. I'm certainly not ready for that nor is replacement even necessary yet. Another guy sent me to his competitor because he was too backlogged. Third never responded. All three were personal visits to their shops and l displayed photos. Crazy.

My first quote was $16k for just the bridge.

Boatswains Locker was half of that. Of course, my boat is just the OEM stuff. Assuming your was aftermarket?

Yes, pretty sure it was constructed by first owner because it's not Bimini type and the Bimini support hinges for the supports still reside in the fiberglass. This structure is heavy gauge SS and much larger in diameter than Bimini poles.

That's a great looking boat Jack!

I just got word from my local boat yard that Covid has their entire work crew out due to positive tests. Just my luck, I had my haul out scheduled this week for bottom paint, under water lights and a few other odds and ends including the pin hole leak on one of the trim tabs that I band aided a few months back. I'm rescheduled for February 11th. o_O

That's a bummer.

Side note, what/how many underwater lights are you doing?

My starboard underwater light died. I found that my battery charger tends to pop-up to conditioning mode after switching back to shote power and that light DID not like it. It flickered for a bit and now it is toast. Mine were just white.l and only aft facing. Plan to haul Feb/Mar for bottom and a thru hull, rudder packing.

Thinking of adding two more side facing and going adjustable color. Probably not going with current brand.

After several recommendations here on CSR, I picked up 4 of the Lumitec SeaBlaze X2 units at West Marine. I wanted the multi color model, but the Admiral only wanted blue and white so we saved a little $. The plan is to mount all 4 on the stern. I thought about side facing lights, but after suffering the little pin hole leak with the trim tab, I don't want to worry about leak on the side behind the fuel tanks that I might not notice. I figure if I develop a leak in the stern, I can easily check and I have a bilge pump ready to go to work.
