Thanks Kevin, I'm taking a vice & clamps to the marina this weekend
After much consideration & effort of looking at replacing the existing lounge seat slide with heavy duty linear slides ($200-$300) and unable to find the replacement part I found an inexpensive solution. I removed the bent slide attached to the seat & a piece of 1/2” galvanized pipe slide into the opening. I used a 36” piece of pipe with a tee & a 10” piece with a cap for the leg with a rubber cap around it, secured to the seat with a 3/4” 2 hole pipe strap. It worked perfect! I took a saw & removed 3” from the leading edge of the track attached to the Fiberglas to allow the leg to fold up & out of the way. I’ll probably change the tee to a 90 & have the whole thing powder coated to avoid any rust from moisture but I’m only in for less than $20 in parts at this point

Fossil, the Floor looks great, I’d like to do the same to my 99 260Da. Where did you buy it and how much did it cost? Did you install it yourself?

Cost was $900 including shipping. Excellent customer service.

All hands on deck! Please help me diagnose a bizarre problem...

Started off on a beautiful cruise this weekend, boat running perfectly for hours. While at a moderate cruising speed, the engine suddenly died. Upon restarting, it would run for 2-3 seconds, then die again. The obvious things were all fine - good oil level, oil pressure, operating temperature, fuel level. No alarms. I checked the fuses near the ECM on the engine - all good. I'm not hearing any activity from the fuel system when turning on the ignition.

What is REALLY strange about this is that all the gauges are stuck at the exact position that they were at when the engine died, showing perfect levels on each gauge. So far I have done the following troubleshooting - turn ignition off/on, turn batteries off/on, disconnect both batteries completely, disconnect and reseat the SmartCraft connectors at both the engine end and the gauge end, and finally remove the entire gauge assembly so there is absolutely nothing connected to it - but the gauges are still stuck at the exact same place!

Where to start? I'll replace the relay(s), since they are probably original. I'll see if I can find a wiring diagram and put a tester on it tomorrow.

Haven't heard from any of you about this, so I'll provide an update.

First I confirmed that I had a good spark. The engine turns over. When I turn on the key, the electric fuel pump is silent. When I jump power directly to the fuel pump, it runs. I've changed the fuel/water filter, and the inline fuel filter. I've disconnected and reconnected the CAN/Smartcraft connectors, as well as almost every other connector I can reach. I purchased a new fuel pump relay, and swapped it out with both of my relays. I checked for power at the relay, and some of the pins are hot - but the wire colors don't match the diagrams and other documentation I have.

Any ideas? I'm going to get a scan code reader, to see if it shows anything. But I get no alarms. Is there a sensor that would prevent power from getting to the fuel pump? Would the IAC cause something like this?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Greg

Sounds like the ecu is not sending power to the pump relay. Try posting in the iBoats mercruiser forum.

I just removed all the seats and cushions and am having them re-upholstered. I am also replacing the speakers ( they were really rusty and had lousy sound). Last week I replaced some of the wood in the microwave cabinet that rotted away from the leaky port window.
Would love to see your after photos of the cabinet, my left side is rotting out and needs replaced.

OK, those of you that use your full enclosure, how hard to put up and take down, and is it recommended to leave up in colder weather?

When I had my 260DA I kept the full camper enclosure up all them time. I took off all the canvas only when I stored it for the winter. I have seen some people wrap over the camper and bimini but I would really want to make sure it could support the weight of snow.

As a side note when I replaced my initial canvas I kept my old cruddy visors and side curtains and put them up when not using the boat to keep the new ones in as good shape as possible.

Once you know what you're doing, 5-ish minutes. I'm also positive that a number of us have posted "how-to's" in this thread... if not, I'm SURE it's been posted in other threads about this subject as I've personally posted it a few times, myself. Probably can find that via searching.

What do you mean by "colder weather" and is this for storage or for use?

Colder for me means, when I need to put something long sleeve on. Not often we resort to coats/jackets in South Louisiana.

I am wondering if steering wheel "play" would be considered as
Normal on a 2002 with 680 hrs...the wheel moves about 3-5 inches before any noticable direction change of boat occurs ??

I have a 2000 and there is a bit of play in the steering. I put on a new transom unit no difference.

Thks DH and Bmatt...do the SeaRay 260Da have rack or rotary steering ? ....and any ideas what make / model it might be?....Im wondering if there is a service or repair kit available.
My boat had the Bravo III leg pivot pin replaced ( SS pin) apparently a couple years ago, so I dont think its play in leg mechanics...but just the helm steering control unit.

Ok 2002 260, putting up my camper canvas first time, got the rear and rear sides up, the windshield pieces do t even look like they fit and then there’s this huge piece that looks like it could be rear half all by itself. Rookie question, am I using the biminis to connect all pieces?

Yes, Don all join at top via zippers onto bimini and ends via zippers.

Front pieces go on first. Not sure what you mean by "huge piece... rear half" - The rear canvas is one piece. As far as whether it goes there, did you try it? That's the easiest way to figure it out!

There are a number of threads that you can find via searching about putting the camper canvas up (it's not really model specific), but here is one of them: http://www.clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/almost-new-to-240-sun-dancer.87186/#post-984275
