The Time has come…

Good luck on the sale, Bennett.

I'm doing it quite differently.

"DON'T LET THE OLD MAN IN" Clint Eastwood

Sold my 10 meter in favor of the 450DA:

transom door: no more climbing over the transom

big ass swim platform: the Hurley H30 can handle the dink

one wet shower & head : one real shower & two heads

had to remove all cockpit seating, flooring, wet bar & icemaker just to change out all engine zincs: engine room on the 450 is a DREAM for maintenance

At 65 I'm still young enough to bring this 1996 California boat with 435 hours (at purchase last year) back to baseline plus major improvements

Plus, having the boat right behind the house is a game changer.

I now have a detailer handle those duties 4x year - this way her shine will not wane in the intense Florida sun.

"DON'T LET THE OLD MAN IN" - I'm tenacious, and will fight till the end.

Whether it's old age or disease that takes me, I'm in this for the long haul.

HOPE SHE SELLS QUICK FOR YOU!

BEST !

Thank you SIr!

Even at 67, not so much an age or “no longer can” thing, but more of a want something different and try something different. You are on the coast and I on an inland lake. We considered moving her to the coast, but having time to use it enough to make it worthwhile, isn’t in the cards. MIL is mid-80s and currently lives alone. Not sure that will last much longer before my wife has to make a plan and assist in her care. Kids have just moved close enough for us to attend functions the grandkids participate in. Bring her back to baseline and more was my hobby and loved every minute. Just time for something else.

Everyone’s insight and well wishes are much appreciated.

We're 5-7 minutes from ours. We have a launch for smaller boats just a couple hundred yards from our house. I've backed up to it and dropped the wife off so she could walk home and pick something up that was needed.

Man you guys with 2 or more hours to your boat. I could never do that, even on a good day. Boating is a way of life and I have always moved around where I was keeping the boat. Never wanted to be more then 20-30 minutes a way. Now I am 12min away and wish I was closer.

That is beyond comprehension to me. Dead serious. I am 8 miles, 15 minutes. In summer i sometimes do 2 to 3 trips a day to it.
That is a negative to being too close. My camping property is in Meshoppen PA . about 20 mins. Find myself going back and forth.

Ehh, you get used to it. That said, I can work from anywhere, literally. So I will go spend a week or more at a time at our condo, which is 75 yards from the boat. The only reason we still live in St. Louis is my Mom. When she is gone, I want to move south: South Carolina, Georgia or Florida, and have a boat on a lift in the backyard.
