The "virus" What are your thoughts

Hey all, I've been pretty quiet here lately as the info is fully out there as it relates to the US. I hope you all are doing some serious social distancing. Dr. Fouci is all over giving good guidance. So, he's your guy...

Though, I'm going to repeat myself a bit. If you need to go out into public or social setting, wear a mask. The only reason they are giving guidance not to, is because the medical administrators failed to prepare, and want them/need for themselves. I support the medical caregivers and by all means they should have them. Do not hoard. But, if you want to help slow / stop the spread, stay away from others and self-quarantine. I've seen joke memes saying " Previous generations fought wars and you're being asked to sit on the couch and watch tv - You can do this" ... Pretty much right. But, also, if available, wear a mask.

If we had a culture similar to Japan, we would have similar numbers. They all wear masks....

I saw something interesting the other day...where they said people being counted as dying from the virus were dying with the virous....not because of the virous...

The blood tests are for something else, not initial testing. Maybe afterwards?

Every lab is now focused on COVID-19.

Surprisingly ONC and HHS still have no electronic means of tracking testing rates and total numbers from such a distributed lab market.

My company is working on connecting all our Lab customers directly to ONC because they just have no way of knowing until it’s manually reported which in many cases lags by a week!

“Don’t believe the numbers when you see, even on our Johns Hopkins website, that 1,600 Americans have the virus,” he said. “No, that means 1,600 got the test, tested positive. There are probably 25 to 50 people who have the virus for every one person who is confirmed.”

He added: “I think we have between 50,000 and half a million cases right now walking around in the United States.”

There is no data on US numbers.

That's so last week. :)

So what's the truth on how this is spread? Any ideas? They say mainly by coughs and sneezes -- which is why they say stay six feet apart. And a mask can help that. But can that possibly be true? They are downplaying contact infections. I don't know. I just can's see all these people hanging out next to coughers and sneezers -- I don't on a good day.

We are spending our ordered home stay on the boat between storms anyway. I proudly displayed my support for our embattled president. I happen to believe that he and his administration are doing what is best for the country.

Apparently I’m in good company. We are on a side tie with a promenade directly behind us. I’ve lost count of the walkers, joggers and bicyclists passing by yelling “Go Trump”. And we are in the epicenter of Libertard country. There is hope yet.

I so wish I could be on my boat now. For 20 years, it's been a stress reliever. Marina is closed until further notice. Sux big time. But at least I have this -- I just love how clear and blue the water is.

Is your boat still in dry storage? If your boat was in the water, could you just hitch a ride on a small boat and board by the water?

I’m from the Deep South and not familiar with winter storing boats.

High and dry, on blocks and stands. My best bet would be a massive flood. The way things are going, I better be prepared. :)

We have the governor in Michigan...doing a press conference at 11:00.... don’t have a good feeling about this

She will cave from the pressure of the media. Last couple press conferences i've watched of hers, she was asked no less than 1,000 times why she is not following NY, NJ,IL,OH and the likes.

She couldn’t fix the damn roads.... I am hoping you are not right... we have high numbers though...
I am sure the higher numbers are due to the more frequent testing rather than the spread. If they could mass test all ten million Michiganders and that number jumped from 1,000 to 10,000 it wouldn't surprise me. Of the 105 cases in Oakland county, 5 are in the ICU.

I know in the late fall / early winter quite a few people were very sick - but flu tests all came back negative. It would not surprise me if many of those were ill with COVID.

I am more scared of the gargantuan cure than the virus. Not trying to minimize the virus and deaths it’s causing. Its terrible!
