So Governors are doctors now? How bout we leave prescribed medicines to the decision of the professionals? Our Michigan twit threatened doctors with legal action if they prescribed it, now is begging the federal government for it.

I don't go to a church so folks please don't start fussing ... and I meant it!

Why should religious services be essential? A large group in one area, you might as well let us all go back to work! Many of the older folks are already in retirement communities that are in lockdown. Everyone needs to , sacrifice some of their freedoms for now.

When I need to talk to God or say a prayer for my father or my friends here it only takes a short walk around the yard or to just go sit on my well. I'm NOT going to put myself in any more risk.

Don't put yourself at risk, your life, your families lives.

Nowhere in our constitution does it imply or specifically mention that it is suspended during a national emergency. So I take issue with “everyone needs to sacrifice some of their freedoms for now”.

When I first read about this a week or so ago I didn't see anything to be unhappy about. Is it possible you guys aren't understanding what they did and for what purpose?

I personally would prefer to NEVER have a politician dictate anything that involves me and my health care provider. Our Govr claimed after the fact that she didnt want people originally prescribed here to go without because of covid treatments. I wasnt aware Michigan had a huge molaria problem in the winter.

Well went outside earlier and my same neighbor across the street that has people going in and out all day long were sitting on their porch with a few other people on their porch.

And I talked a little about a stock trading service I'm in, well about 10 minutes ago the guy that runs it tweeted that his son now has it. He lives in Chicago. Assume the son lives there too but no idea for sure or how old the son is. The dad is 'about' 55 so assume the son is probably in his 20's or 30's

We need a new law. If you're an anit-trumper and don't like hydroxycloroquine because he talked about it, then you get none if you get sick. More for the rest of us.

It's actually used for Lupus and Rheumatoid arthritis. My mom was on if for a while. I could see wanting to make sure it was available for people with ongoing prescriptions -- get them all a 90-120 day supply. And give the rest to covid 19 treatments.

I'm all for the Constitution, and all for exercising of our rights. I'm also for using some common sense. Every church that's still packing the pews full will be responsible for killing some more people....ain't that something, probably just the opposite of what they went in there to pray for. I'll find little comfort knowing I caught the virus from some dumbass that was in a packed church last weekend praying for me.

It shouldn’t have to. There is common sense as well that should weigh in to all of this. But I guess even if it is “common” its not universal.

Everyone may hate this next statement and its hardcore. One person with the virus goes to a church with 200 members in attendance. What if that one person was the father of the church, that's 200 people infected.

That one person might has well taken gun and killed or wounded 6 to 8 people. Everybody would be up in arms and raising hell. This virus is just that, a concealed weapon, you don't know who has it but it is there.

Automobiles are dangerous. This year approximately 38,000 Americans will die in one. That's 12.4 per 100,000 citizens. Add that to the 4.4 million that are injured and require medical attention and hospitalization.

Add alcohol and an individual can be driving down a road and kill an entire family going about their own business. Last year 10,000 deaths attributed to drunk driving.

So let's use "common sense" and let the governors declare personal automobiles illegal to own and operate.

So Trump has whacked 3M for continuing to send supplies to regular customers outside of the US, Canada included. While I understand that he was elected on an "America first" mandate, its very disappointing. Many (most?) of masks are made in China. If China takes that same view, they would stop 3M and any other mask/ventilator maker from shipping anything out of their country. Its sad that the world has come to this, but not surprising.

Lets not forget how Canada helped the US after 911 allowing jets to land and taking in hundreds of Americans when all airports in the states were closed.
And how about all the Americans coming into Canada before the border was closed to buy cheap drugs.
We didn’t refuse to sell to them even though there was a concern that this would cause a shortage.

It's been a scary week here.
If all the carnage down state isn't bad enough, now the people here at the other end of the state are beginning to freak out over the political aspects of dealing with this virus. For the last week there is worry over what if the medical providers find out my political party affiliation and treat me with bias, and since yesterday the County Executive's phone has been ringing off the hook with calls from scared people that are worried that the hospitals will be stripped of their vital equipment and there will be none if they get sick.
A week ago we had an executive from our world renowned Cancer center that is also being used to fight the virus, fired over childish Facebook statements about allowing certain patients to die because of political affiliation.
Now, our hospitals, medical professionals, local, state and federal politicians and the county Executive are fighting mad over the governor saying he is going to send the NY Guard up here to seize our unused respirators. Funny how this type of thing changes the way people think, most of the politicians that are threatening the governor are his usual lapdogs.
To the rest of America: Coming to a theater near you. Fasten your seat belts. And stay safe.

In large states the governors are elected by the huge metropolitan areas, and not by the people who live outside of them. New York, the Governor is elected by NYC and it's boroughs, with help from Rochester and Buffalo. Same with Illinois, Chicago elects it's governor.

So little wonder that Cuomo sees no problem in confiscating equipment for NYC at the expense of others in the state.

States need a county to county electoral college system to elect governors.
