That 4 wire connector is the interconnect to the other units and the genset shutoff? I'm trying to interpret the Fireboy guidance doc, but it references 2 wires for the non-interconnected one and then two additional wires which are brown and yellow for the interconnected ones. In this case, I have two sets of power wires and then two white wires. Is there a relay somewhere just like you need with the CMD5-MBI?

This thing goes off constantly and I'm thinking it's installed as a stand alone unit since I pulled the two-wire power on this and it did not shut down my genset. But it looks like it might have a relay connection.

Thanks for any help.

I think I figured out that this is the relay version, CMD4R, but for some reason my brown and yellow wires are red and black. That should make rewiring the CMD5 fun.

Take some pics and document. This is on my list to do this winter.

Will try to remember to photo notable steps. I already figured out that the red/black and double white means that this sensor is at the end of the relay series. Only the one closest to the generator would have the yellow/brown. Fireboy’s web site has the old manuals and there are wiring diagrams in them. I’ll take a few photos and have already ordered the CMD5s and the new relay to replace.

Thats interesting. I have looked at the wiring diagrams, and thought it would be a little more strait forward.

Yeah. I think it is pretty straight forward. Notably, if you do not have the second pigtail with the 4 wires, then your sensors are standalone and you just have to reconnect the 2-wire (black/red) and you're ready to go. Mine are connected in serial and then to the generator so the genset is shut off when a CO alarm is tripped. Still don't expect this will be terribly complicated.

fighting replacing mine now. I removed one in the aft area and it had the two white wires used as you stated. I guess i need to pull the other 3 and see how they are connected. the labels on the boat wiring the three wires were connected to were labeled
982A SHTDN SYS P20 TO L4C
983 GEN SHT DWN
995A CO INTER P20 TO L4C
the yellow wire from the FB unit was connected to the 995A wire
the brown was not connected at all.
the white wires were connected to the other two listed.

A bit baffled.

He also posted a FB post on the topic with photos. I can't find that link right this moment, but you might if you search around a bit.
