Pirate - pretty easy, but can you name the dock bar I was at?

If you want to hear the best Bay Jimmy Buffet band, Sons of Pirates, every Wednesday 6-9 at Tuna. Or Riverwatch if you want to listen from there.
They play lots of other places too. Next Shanty bar at Tolchester date is June 18 1pm.
We used to go to Tuna a lot. It’s a 5 min zodiac ride from marina. But last year they went to cans only and we hate canned beer. So now we spend time at Sunset Cove on your creek.

good to know, thanks.

I don’t know what happen to Riverwatch. Up til the pandemic you couldn’t get into that place on a weekend. Place used to rock. Last couple years, half their slips are empty and don’t see much activity.
Meantime, Sunsetcove, if you ain’t got a spot on the pier by noon at the latest you aren’t getting in. Sunset opens at 11am, we get a spot on pier at 10:30 and often not the first.

I can see Sunset from my Marina. Definitely need to get there before the "go fast" boats show up and raft 3 wide on the dock.

When you get there early, do you have boats rafting onto your boat? Is that common?

Have a group of boats coming up to BYC from Edgewater this weekend. Might wanna do a field trip on Sunday to Tuna, Riverwatch, etc. Need to be able to get at least 2-3 40' boats in wherever we go. Recommendations?? Thanks.

Nobody rafts off mine, I stay far out on the pier and dock boys know not to raft anyone off mine. Most of teh raft-offs I see are center consoles that seem to know each other.

Both Tuna & RW have long T piers that can accommodate at least 2, maybe 3, 40'. I wouldnt recommend trying to get boats that large onto the pier at Sunset Cove. While its a long pier, its most small - medium at that pier.
Crazy Tuna on left. RW is the 2 piers on the right.
Tuna can also accomodate 2 40' on the inside of the t-pier. They open 11am. its gets busy on weekends.
I wouldn't plan on getting there at 3pm expecting to get a slip. There is lots of room on the creek to anchor out and dinghy in as an alternate option.

Thanks Pirate, they both look like a good time. Any reason to head over to Back River locales or would you suggest sticking with the Middle River spots? Just don’t have a lot of familiarity with the area dock bars.

You ought to look into The Shanty Bar at Tolchester. About 20 minutes across the bay from BYC. But do call and talk about arrangements on a holiday weekend. We went on. Memorial Day and got last transient slip at 9am,
Let me tell you this, price of gas, on holidays. Nobody gives a shat. Really. Places busy as ever on holidays.
We going to day trip to Shanty for Monday, but may book an overnight slip just to ensure a spot.

AJSB - where in Edgewater are you? We are at Selby Bay Yacht Club.

If you have dingys it would be much easier to leave the boats at BYC, then you could check out all the spots in Middle River. Tiki Lees in Back River is pretty good, but dockage for 3 - 40’s could be tough
