Newbie here and looking for a trailer for the 1986 340 sundancer.

I am looking at a Magic Tilt Tri axle Alum trailer that was used for a 1990 310 sundancer. 11.5 beam compared to my 11.11 beam - seems like it would work rated at 13,220 lbs.

two bunks at back. Is two enough in back? my 4 winns had 4

any thoughts. Thanks

Silly question but why would you want to trailer a 340? You must have one hell of a tow vehicle.

Our lakes form ice on them during winter months- so either gotta store them on chocks or inside next to the haul out or trailer them to and fro from the harbor. In this case 45 miles from Lake Michigan. Once in the spring once in the fall

Remember your boat has a 12,100# dry weight so you have only ~1,100# of stuff to reach your working trailer capacity. If you leave fuel in the boat that is roughly 150 gals. and your tank is 200+ so you need to be careful what you leave in the boat while trailering. Sucks to have to pull your boat. Move to Texas and boat year-round.

Not sure what a trailer like that costs but would it pay to have a boat hauler do the two trips/year for you? I suppose it depends also on how long you'll keep this boat.

I agree, boat hauler, I would say you need a 14 - 15lbs trailer for the 340 and at least an f450 to haul it. My guess is it would take 10 lenghty trips using a boat hauler before you'd break even on the trailer costs.

I realize this is an old thread but. I am looking at an 86 340 and want a trailer but don't know where to look. I'm in AZ and we do boat year round. Having a trailer means I can haul it out when ever I want. Power wash the running gear and bottom. Haul to the mechanic if need be and I already own a F550. Any thoughts to find a used or new trailer?

google boat trailers in Florida. I got one for a 23 Formula ( yes much shorter) but they had trailers up to the 40 foot range.

The trailers Magic Tilt builds will not disappoint you. Look closely at what you actually get from some manufacturers. For a trailer that big I'd prefer a trailer made by a true marine builder. A friend likes his Continental trailer for his 320 DA.

if all you intend to do with the trailer is a haul out to clean the bottom and make repairs at the marina you might can find a used 'yard trailer' from a marina or service yard.....most marinas that service boats will have several yard trailers that have some degree of adjustment to pull various boats out of the water.....the yard trailers may or may not be road worthy so using a yard trailer to take the boat somewhere may not work out....

and you may need a long and deep ramp to use a trailer to load/unload a 340 so keep that in mind as well.....
