While prepping the boat to go into the water up north this Spring, I noticed two nicks in the gelcoat I believe are new - haven't noticed them prior to a 2,500 mile trailering trip. I'm guessing they could be from road debris, but I digress.

Would either of these phase anyone? Neither are more than 0.5 cm x 0.5 cm, but both are below the waterline. Photo one is up on the bow, photos two and three are of the same gouge down by the keel.

Search “air voids in gel coat”. It’s quite common. Every boat I have ever owned had one or two pop out at some point. They are usually at a chine or tight corner in the mold process. What the others said about epoxy for now and fix later if you want to use the boat would be what I would do also, or if you are decent at gelcoat repairs, the fix is straight forward.

I should have mentioned in my post above that if this boat is within warranty, the gel voids would be covered.
