All,

I just wanted to offer a brief update letting you know that today will be my last day working for Sea Ray.

I spent my first 10 years at Brunswick just trying to earn the right to work with the Sea Ray team. And starting in late 2012 I was blessed to work for the best brand in boating for a bit more than three years. However, a recent internal reorganization has resulted in the elimination of the senior marketing position, as those functions will be handled through other departments/positions moving forward.

There's been a lot of change in boating in the last several years, and lots of change at Sea Ray. I'm thankful that I was able to play a part in helping the marketing at Sea Ray reflect the premium brand I know it to be.

I'm disappointed that I won't have the opportunity to see through many of the projects I was passionate about, including the new Sea Ray Owners Club. You should know -- from an insider's perspective -- that Sea Ray really wants to do right by their global network of Sea Ray owners. Sea Ray was in rather a tough spot when I joined in late 2012, and there were simply some matters that had to be attended to first. But the company is committed to the the owners that truly bring the brand to life. I'm excited to see how that evolves in the years to come. I know for a fact that there is money set aside to help Sea Ray owners through events that celebrate the Sea Ray lifestyle -- the very kind of events we see so often here on CSR.com. If you haven't registered at the new Sea Ray Owners Club site, please do -- they're looking to support the very kinds of events that you all regularly conduct.

There's a tendency in a transition like this to look back with sorrow or regret, but I view things quite differently. For the last 13 years I was given the opportunity to work with people I loved and cared about on work we found meaningful and enjoyable. And I met so many wonderful people along the way. Sea Ray is a world-class brand. And Sea Ray owners are a world-class community. I'm grateful that I was able to be a part of it.

I'll be turning over the SeaRayCorporate handle to the folks who are continuing on with the company. I wish them -- and you -- the very best for the future.

I'll set up a new handle on CSR and I hope to see some of you on the water and perhaps at a future CSR or Sea Ray Owners Club event.

Sincerely,

Matt Guilford

PS. For anyone who wants to keep in touch, I'm on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Best to you Matt.

Matt, first of all, I wish you the best of luck in the future. You have come to be a great ambassador for the Sea Ray brand over the years and I would bet you had a hand in their recent success. I would like to also thank you for what you have done for the Sea Ray Boat Club or Northern California as well as me personally. Your support helped change the thinking of a lot of Sea Ray Owners out here in the West. Keep in touch and let us know what the future holds for you. I'm sure you will flourish wherever you decide to go! Sorry to see you go, it may end up being a bad decision for the brand at the end of the day if you end up at the competition!

Best wishes to you. Hope to see you on the water.

Matt

Sorry to see you go. As someone in the media and marketing industry, I hope SR continues to invest in promoting their products. Just look at where the website was a few years ago!
Best of luck.

Very classy goodbye. It reflects well on you. Good luck in the next phase of your career.

Matt. Good luck to wherever your travels take you. You are an asset to your company and you will be missed. We all appreciated your contributions and advice. A class act for sure! Kind regards, Brian

Good Luck Matt! I always enjoyed seeing your post and the certain great content that was in them. Again best of luck, JC

Good luck and take care, Matt. Thanks for everything!

Cheers

Matt, I too am sorry to see you leave SR. Speaking for myself here, I felt as if someone inside the large SR corporation cared about what we SR owners though. Most corporations we deal with are faceless. Yes, they have a corporate logo that we see in their ads, but there's no PERSON behind those logos. For me, you were the person behind the faceless corporation.

I wish you the best in wherever you land. Please keep in touch on here so we know where you end up and if you ever find yourself in the inland part of the PNW, you're welcome on my Sea Ray any time.

Mike

Thank you for all the support and generosity over the years.
Best wishes for your next endeavor...
Cheers,

Best of luck, you leave some pretty big boots to fill!
