The search function isn't working this morning, hence my questions. I have a 2001 310 that I think has Velvet drive transmissions. Does anyone have a quick reference to a source for filters and oil type/quantity? Thanks

Your tranies should have a tag with the specs, including the oil. I've used Castrol Drexon III Micron for my 320. Check the tag or your manual to be sure.
As for the filter, if you have similar metal filter, simply wash it in Muneral spirits solvent, dry it and reinstall back. I think I might have reused the o-rings (I don't remember), but if you can it's better to get the new ones.
