I have a 2002 Searay with Raytheon Tridata.....no problems up til now...speed indicated 00.0 then about half actual value then back to 00.0 ..fast / slow boat speed no joy.... tried swimming under and seeing if impeller wheel was jammed with debris..moving freely .... off/on system power...reset button more than a few times..into the bilge, no loose connections...
Thoughts??

The transducer has a paddle wheel and usually you have something wrapped around it, or a broken paddle. Regardless, these where meant to be cleaned/repaired with the boat in the water. There should be a plug somewhere nearby. The housing has a flap that cuts the amount of water rushing in down when you pull it. If cleaning it doesnt solve it, try a new paddle wheel and shaft.

Easy fix. It just takes courage to remove the transduecer from the bottom of the boat. Don't get excited. Calmly place the plug in. The paddle wheels can break off a piece. There are 4 'blades' on them. Mine only had 3, and read about 1/2 of GPS speed. Just tap out the stainless steel shaft and replace wheel, noting the orientation. The wheels are "cupped" and need to face the proper direction.
