well , this hopefully does not turn into a debate but i will give you my view :
- first of all of course corona . yes, no leader can eliminate this disease fully but his handling appears to be just the worst you can do . putting his election and economy before american lives is just a nightmare. he was completely wrong it will disappear by itself in summer and failed to advise states to take measures at time to contain the spread so he could carefully reopen after reproduction dropped to an acceptable level. now it spirals out of any control.
in fact he lost it all : economy, lives and maybe reelection .
its shocking to see this damn virus costs more american lives than you lost in korea and vietnam . 9/11 is nothing against it . his idea to inject desinfectants was just a pain the president really says this . it appears he had no leadership at all , was wrong on every point and finally got overhelmed by the situation .
- pulling out of syria : its a good idea to bring troops home but i think you must have a strategy ! all he reached with his overnight decision without any strategy was to give russia and assad fresh influence as a gift and loosing its own influence . currently the door is closed there.
- iran : strategy was built on bluffs , iran saw it and did not bite . basicly its lost there and we wait how long it will take until they have a nuke and fully control the persian gulf . the previous deal was NOT perfect but better than nothing like now . the worst in iran : the world finally learned he bluffs and countries like n.korea , iran etc take advantage of this .
-his credibility on easy to see false claims he does . basicly every uncovered and reported lie by him is called 'fake news' even when its true for sure . its done because he has no arguments and hopes some people will still believe and follow the 'fake news' claim . in fact he sometimes by himself publishes fake news .
there are also some points i fully agree with him :
- an america first policy idea . yes its the sole job of any president to put own interests in first place and act to benefit your own country and population. he knows this and tries to act so .
-speaking clearly out its not american duty to military protect the free world at mainly own costs . he is right . the basic statement is spot on but we have to clarify usa always wanted to be the global military player and europe for decades gives usa room for a rock solid footprint here , a deep and true allied friendship as well free trade . what should be learned in future more : europe needs usa and usa needs europe .
- enforcing the strenght of your military . thankfully usa is still by far the most powerful country in military terms on this planet and he seems to fully know its crucial to keep it this way.
