Dealer told us to always start the starboard engine first then port. Shutdown in reverse order. Something to do with vessel view or DTS. Didn’t pay much attention at the time. Does it really matter? Have an 08 310da

I need to run port on muffs. Don’t have enough water to run both.

Never heard of this, except on my boat you should start the port first since the house batteries are the same as the starboard start, so if the house bank is too low, you can crank using the emergency start crossover. But that has nothing to do with DTS/VesselView, all about how to get both started after long day on the water. Does your manual reference this, mine had specific instructions on how to flush/run on muffs?

I've always tended to start the engine with the lowest hours first. It's my OCD kicking in. Though I have nothing nearly as fancy as you guys with DTS and/or Vessel View :)

Never heard of this. If you have power steering fed from only one engine, then that should be the order just to preserve steering assistance.

I’ve never heard of this. So far I usually start the starboard first as it seems to power up much of the dc things.
Both motors run so sweet it like listening to ABBA music....for those of age to remember. “Dancing Queen”. LOL
