They already arrived! I wasn't expecting them until next week.

Just tested them out,
the blue matches another set of LED's i bought for the "Gunwale Vents"..

Thank you everyone for the advice. I will go with the sea blaze X lights and mount them just below the water line. Should be a huge upgrade over the current under platform lights.

Nice Pony Racer!

HAHAHA Love it!! Yeah its a sickness, the "blue LED sickness" Can't wait to see them. :smt038

Mounted the lights on the transom today
I went with 4 (1 more than originally planned)

They are in these locations
I will get more pics after they are painted right now they are all covered in 5200 on the brass areas

out sides are 27" from the each side of the boat..
the inner 2 are about 27.75" from the out side ones and the same distance from each other..

also the 2 outsides are about 4" from the water line from center..
the middle 2 are about 8" from the water line.

the starboard side is actually in the middle of the stringer.. (there is an access port on mine because both stringers were fiber-scoped by previous owner)

one thing that scares the hell out of me, that i wasnt prepared for..

how thin the transom fiberglass is i thought it would be thicker than 3/8"

Really? I would too, mine is 1.5 inches where my lights are. Maybe that's just a void that was there?

90% of the holes i drilled only went through fiberglass only..
perfect example the trim tabs that entire area is 3/8" thick both sides.. doesnt flex or anything .. just amazed how thin it is...

all fiberglass no coring..

i guess I'm just used to drilling through a transom that has a outboard(s) or outdrive(s) on it..

Yeah I hear ya, back in the day I was a big bass boat guy and did my fair share of drilling transoms on mine and friends. I still have the drill bits lol!

WOW Very Nice!!! That's going to be tight!

You do know it is against coast guard regulations to run those while underway don't you?

Can you document that? And is that Canada and US?

Never heard of that and can't find it in the regs. I would like to have all the light I can (that doesn't shine in other eyes) and though the transom lights would be easily seen but not blinding.

I have 3 blue model S lights @ 380 lumens each. They do a nice job lighting 8-10ft behind the boat down 3-4ft. The water around here tends to be somewhat brackish so that limits the range but I am ok with the results. Of course if you really want to light up the water the go for 3-4 of the 760 lumens lights. What shape you use would depend on the space available on you stern. Good luck.

Looked at their web site, which is very poor on info so I wrote them. Will see, but the price is dirt cheap.

Nice! What did you use for the vent lights?
